This project was built to power an Allen and Heath SR series mixing desk. Rated at 3500mA @ 24v for the main desk power and 500mA @ 48 volt for phantom power. It was built with an aesthetic in mind which would be in keeping with the mixing desk, using a steel instrument style case, overrated toggle switched and attractive panel mount LED's on the front with panel mount connectors and heat sink on the rear.

This project was built to replace the existing very noisy power supply fans of an Amek Angela Mixing Desk, designed by Graham Langley in 1983. Normally the power supply, along with it's noisy fans, would be kept in a separate room however space in it's current venue limited that possibility so a quieter solution was needed. The original fans were a pair of small, high speed, mains powered units. The replacements are three large, low speed, low voltage fans.

The is the second version of the global feedback system. It shares the same basic circuit as the previous version and adds voltage sensing, reset switch, status LEDs and updated firmware. More details are coming soon, also see the plans for the future.

In this article I'll show you how to use the Arduino hardware board as a standard Atmel development board. It uses the Arduino hardware as a stepping stone towards independent Atmel projects and uses Atmel's tool chain and ISP. The target audience is C programmers wanting to experiment with micro-controllers or Arduino users wanting to take a leap in their understanding of the micro-controller at the heart of their projects.

This is a standard base with which to build Atmel micro-controller based projects. It only includes only the essential components and is designed to be built as part of larger projects. Included is a low voltage power supply, Atmel processor, isp header and optionally a crystal.
